Liftingstane Farmhouse is a spacious detached property that comes ready for a group holiday or family gathering. Everything needed for self-catering is provided: electricity, wi-fi, bed linen, towels, and logs for the wood burner are all included. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric and Aga cooking, dishwasher, and ample storage; there's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays. One dog is welcome and stays free of charge.
The layout spreads across two floors. Ground level has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, plus a separate sitting room with wood burner and inbuilt fireplace. Bedroom 1 on this floor contains two single beds and its own toilet. Upstairs are three further bedrooms: a kingsize, a double, and another kingsize with an ensuite bathroom containing both bath and shower. A second bathroom serves the rest of the property. The enclosed garden has a patio and furniture, bike storage is available, and parking fits four cars.
The farmhouse sits in the Nith Valley near Thornhill, with Drumlanrig Castle, the 7 Stanes mountain biking routes and the River Nith for fishing all nearby. Dumfries is 20 minutes south. No smoking inside.

Had a wonderful time staying at liftingstane cottage for a few days with my 2 sidekicks Oscar and marley🐕🐶 good long and shorts walks about and nice cafe and bakers in Thornhill only 5mins away. Will be back again soon would highly recommend every thing u need lovely views and the bath was massive 😁 ali popped in to see us she was very nice and welcoming and left me,Oscar and marley some goodies

Big, spacious, warm and comfortable house. Plenty of parking space, garden to front and surrounded by fields/farmland. Very friendly and welcoming host and very pet friendly - even left out boels, throws and a towel! Lovely, quiet location, would return.

We stayed in the Dairy Cottage for a week in August with our little one. The owner Ali couldn't have been kinder, more friendly or more accommodating. The cottage was very clean, finished to a high standard, well looked after and one of the best provisioned self catering accommodations I have ever stayed in. The house manual was simple and easy to understand, covering everything we might need to use. The views were beautiful, in a lovely rural location (the sheep were great to sit and watch) but it's close enough to many attractions to get the best of both worlds! I would highly reccomend a stay at Liftingstane Cottages.
