Bedroom one has a kingsize bed with ensuite shower, while bedroom two contains two single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, along with logs for the burner.

The cottage stands in a rural pocket of the Nith Valley near Closeburn, four miles from Thornhill. An enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue sits out back; there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. The surrounding area draws walkers, cyclists, anglers and golfers—the River Nith is nearby for salmon and trout fishing, and Thornhill has an 18-hole course. Within reach are Drumlanrig Castle, the Robert Burns connection at Ellisland, and the mountain biking trails of the 7 Stanes. Dumfries itself lies 20 minutes south, with family attractions including farm parks, swimming and shopping. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
