Lodge One

Lodge One is a detached property with everything on the ground floor: a combined living, dining and kitchen space, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has an ensuite shower and two single beds. The other two bedrooms—one double, one twin—share a bathroom fitted with a bath and shower. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and there's a wood-burning stove in the living area for cooler evenings. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included.

This is one of four similar lodges at Heatheryhaugh, a small complex that has been run as holiday lets for decades. You get the whole property to yourself, with parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The lodge does not permit smoking inside.

Moffat, the nearest town, is minutes away and has pubs, restaurants and regular events. Glasgow and Edinburgh are both under an hour's drive, making this a useful base for exploring central Scotland or venturing into the Lowlands and their surrounding countryside.
