The Dumfries and Galloway coast here is quiet enough that a ten-minute walk takes you from Olafs Cottage to a secluded beach of sand, pebbles and rocks. The property sits on the edge of fifty acres of private woodland with paths through it; bluebells bloom in May across a two-mile walk. From the cottage itself you look out towards the Isle of Man and the Galloway Hills.
Olafs is a semi-detached cottage with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping six. Downstairs holds a living room with a TV and DVD player and an open fire (initial fuel included), and a kitchen/dining room fitted with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two further bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles. Electricity, bed linen, towels, a cot and highchair are all provided. You have private parking for two cars and access to a garden with furniture. One dog is welcome. The cottage does not permit smoking.
Nearest amenities include a pub and a shop at a garage, each about a mile and a quarter away. Galloway House gardens are two miles off. The area suits families wanting a quiet base for beach walks and woodland exploration.
