Families and couples wanting a straightforward coastal break will find Palmallet Cottage works well. It sleeps four across two bedrooms—a king and two singles—with a single bathroom on the ground floor. One dog stays free; the garden is fenced, and there's space to leave a pushchair or fishing gear in the shed. The whole place is yours alone, with parking for two or three cars and an electric vehicle charging point if needed.
The living areas are practical rather than fancy. You get a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, a separate dining space, and a lounge with a wood burner and television. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with fuel and kindling for the stove. A welcome pack arrives on check-in with tea and biscuits; dogs get treats too. A travel cot and high chair can be requested in advance.
From Newton Stewart, the cottage sits on a route that links coastal paths and rural scenery. Local walks start nearby—the property can arrange a courtesy lift to trailheads—and Palmallet Loch is close by for watching ducks and swans. The wider area has village pubs and restaurants, many happy to let dogs join you outside. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Just armhole after a very relaxing week at Palmallet Cottage. Absolutely loved it so peaceful and cosy. Martina and Roy are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them which we truly appreciate. The EV charger was a god send. Highly recommend.
