The countryside around Dumfries and Galloway draws people for its rural character and easy access to both nature and amenities. Terraughtie Cottage West sits just outside town on an unclassified road, close enough for a walk or cycle to local shops and countryside routes, yet properly tucked away. The cottage was completely renovated in 2023 and sleeps 4 across two bedrooms—a king and a double—with one bathroom.

The ground floor layout flows from entrance to living space, where a wood burner anchors the open-plan room that covers cooking, eating and relaxing. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave. Bedrooms have proper beds and good linen included; the bathroom has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail. Wi-Fi, electricity and towels are covered. A hot tub for four sits in the rear garden with patio and furniture, and there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking throughout.

Kilnford Farm Shop and Kitchen Café are a couple of minutes' walk away, with a nature trail, bird hide and adventure playground on the farm itself. The location puts you within reach of local fishing at Auldernauk Fishery, and the surrounding roads and paths invite cycling and walking.
