About Dunbar Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Perched on East Lothian's northern coast with the Firth of Forth stretching out before it, this spacious club site delivers those rare mornings when you wake to crashing waves and salt-laced air. The 100-plus pitches - grass and hardstanding, some accommodating larger units - enjoy genuinely stunning sea views, while the modern facilities earn consistent praise for being spotless and well-maintained, with showers that run reliably hot. A thoughtful wetsuit shower caters to the surfers drawn here by Scotland's finest breaks just down the beach.

Dunbar town, a short walk away, offers proper pubs and restaurants, while the coastline teems with seabirds wheeling around Bass Rock - keep watch for seals, too. The friendly wardens keep things peaceful and welcoming (dogs are allowed), and when Edinburgh's grand streets beckon, trains from Dunbar reach the capital in an hour. It's a rare combination: wild coastal beauty with the city on your doorstep.

4.5 hrs from home, caravan erected and what a campsite you can walk for miles. The greating you get is second to none. Turning out to be one of our favourites. Well worth a visit.

Been pitched for four days before a warden came and told us we were over the allotted space. I said we’d move our vehicle to the car park. Later a rather angry warden came telling us the same thing. When we asked why hadn’t this been brought to our attention before he became very aggressive and kept shouting you’re in the wrong. The site was less than a third full and there were plenty of spaces. We were happy to pay for more space or move our vehicle but the warden kept shouting at us. The chap next door came to ask if we were ok after he left. The site was dirty and dogs were off lead everywhere there was no sign of the rules being enforced. The dog park was regularly full of poo and not monitored at all. Overall the spaces were less than usual size camping pitched but very expensive. Coupled with the constant banging from the cement factory next door this is definitely a site to avoid.

A well run campsite with good facilities and good views. A longer walk than you think to Dunbar as you have to backtrack about half a mile to get to the coastal path and then a long boring walk thru the golf course .... we got a taxi back for £9 ..... uber quoted £6 but couldn't find a driver! Bit disappointed with Dunbar which seems a bit run down but an interesting harbour area.
