Families and larger groups will find Bridge End Farm works well as a self-contained base. The detached bungalow sits on the edge of Frosterley in Upper Weardale, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with views across the village and river from an elevated spot. Three bedrooms—two doubles and one twin—and a single bathroom mean there's enough space without excessive corridors; everything sits on one floor, which suits those who'd rather avoid stairs. A lawned garden with seating and a barbecue opens from the living room, and parking for three cars is on site.
The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine, so cooking and laundry are straightforward. Bed linen and towels come with the booking. Gas central heating covers the colder months. A shop is a quarter mile away, and a country pub within walking distance. The immediate area is excellent for outdoor pursuits—footpaths, cycling routes and fishing spots abound—while High Force Waterfall, Hexham and the Lake District are all within reach. Durham Cathedral is 18 miles south. Note that the garden has sloping banks and three external steps.
