Built from local sandstone, Raven Cottage sits within one of Barnard Castle's characterful yards, a minute or two from the market square's shops and cafés. Inside, the contrast is striking: original stone walls frame clean, contemporary spaces with good natural light. The ground floor holds an open-plan kitchen and dining room, plus a living area with leather seating and a smart TV; French doors open onto a private, sun-catching courtyard enclosed by stone walls. Upstairs are two bedrooms—a kingsize and a second room with a three-quarter double and a single bed—and a family bathroom with both bath and shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge-freezer. Essentials like bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. A welcome pack awaits arrival; travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are available for families with young children. The property is privately yours for the duration of your stay, and one well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.
Barnard Castle serves as a natural base for exploring Teesdale—the Pennine Way and River Tees are both accessible for walking and cycling, and High Force waterfall lies within reach. The town itself, built around the ruins of its medieval castle, has the narrow yards and cobbled streets typical of the area. On-road parking is available outside, with a public car park nearby at extra cost.
