The Cart Shed

Step through the door at The Cart Shed and you find yourself in a single-level home designed around an expansive open-plan living space. One side holds a sitting area with woodburner and television; the other flows into a dining kitchen with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the essentials for cooking. The layout means you never need to navigate stairs—a genuine advantage if anyone in your group has mobility concerns. Large windows and patio doors open the whole space onto a private garden with terrace and furniture, where a gas barbecue and six-person electric hot tub sit on the lower deck.

All three bedrooms are upstairs: the first has a super king bed with ensuite shower and television; bedrooms two and three each have super king beds (both convertible to twin singles on request) with television access. A second bathroom with roll-top bath and shower serves the other two rooms. The property sleeps six and is yours alone—no shared facilities, no neighbours in the building. Parking for three cars sits on site. One dog or cat is welcome at no extra cost. Wi-Fi, electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the woodburner are provided too.

The Cart Shed sits on the edge of a village near Durham, within reach of St Michael & All Angels Church at Witton Gilbert and convenient for exploring the region. No smoking is permitted inside.
