The Old Stables - Number 3 is a converted building in Bridgehill, near Consett, set on the owner's grounds in semi-rural County Durham. Everything happens on one level: an open-plan living space with a sofa bed and smart TV opens onto a patio through French doors, a kitchen with electric oven and gas hob sits alongside, and a bedroom with a kingsize bed connects to a bathroom with both bath and shower. Two small enclosed patios have garden furniture and a barbecue between them. Parking for two cars is on site, and one well-behaved pet is welcome.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking rather than heating up takeaways. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided. A travel cot and highchair can be requested. The property is a whole space to yourself, with no other guests on the grounds, though the owner lives adjacent. No smoking inside.
Knitsley sits south of Consett in the heart of County Durham, surrounded by established footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways leading into the Durham Dales. Walkers and cyclists find plenty of routes from the hamlet itself. The cathedral city of Durham is within reach for those wanting a day out.
