White House Cottages - The Stables

Durham Cathedral and its riverside setting are within easy reach of The Stables, a converted stone cottage on the edge of Brandon village. The city itself—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—draws visitors for its architecture, museums, shops and restaurants, while the Gala Theatre, cinema and Freemans Quay leisure centre with pool are all walkable from here. A car lets you explore further afield, though most guests find reason enough to stay close by.

The cottage holds two bedrooms and two bathrooms across two floors, sleeping three people. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space centres on a woodburner; the kitchen comes fully equipped for self-catering, including a dishwasher. Upstairs are a king bed, a single bed, and a bathroom with bath. Electricity, heating, wifi, bed linen and towels are included. There's private parking for one car, an enclosed courtyard garden with patio, and a bike store for exploring on two wheels. No smoking inside.

The cottage works for small families, couples, and friends taking a break in the city. Initial logs for the fire are provided, and you'll find a welcome pack on arrival.
