About The Victorian Town House

The Victorian Town House is a small bed and breakfast on Victoria Terrace, overlooking the leafy Wharton Park and set within Durham's World Heritage conservation area, a five-minute walk from the cathedral and castle.

Rooms are en suite with a complimentary hospitality tray, and each stay includes a cooked breakfast, a straightforward and traditional B&B format that has earned the property a 4-Star Gold Award rating.

Its quiet residential setting close to the park, combined with proximity to the peninsula's main sights, makes it a good option for visitors who want a genuine bed-and-breakfast experience within easy walking distance of the centre.

This is an amazing victorian era pub, original and authentic with a saloon , tap room and main bar all set around the central bar. Fantastic range of beers, with coal fires in winter and friendly staff. I love the place, always well rated by Camra and listed amongst the Telegraph's best pubs in England. Great accommodation with parking for those staying in Durham.

Gorgeous little pub - felt like it was a museum. Every detail of this beautiful Victorian pub was well preserved and maintained. Original features, coal fire burning, lovely drinks. Staff were quite friendly and the crowd was so lovely.

Perhaps the ultimate old fashioned pub in Durham. Good ales. Happy service. Loads of rooms to sit in, all with a warming blazing fire.
