Hotel Indigo Durham

Long weekend. Premium Double Room B&B. Excellent! Really lovely, large room in a fabulous building. So glad so many original features have survived. Huge comfy bed, great walk in shower. A very welcoming room. Great location. Far enough out of town to be quiet late evening, but close enough for a short walk into town. Cathedral/market square about 10-15 minutes. Has a fabulous room for dining ehich becomes Marco Piere White for dinner. Good. Equally impressive Rotunda bar for drinks pre-dinner perhaps or a nice cocktail. (Really good Espresso Martini!). Lovely helpful staff from desk to housekeeping. Would definitely look to stay here again when visiting Durham.

We stayed for one night to visit Durham Cathedral. Overall we enjoyed our stay although I would say it was close to being on the pricey side. On the plus side the check on was great, excellent service, very friendly. And a lift! The building is magnificent. The room we had was Cathedral view which was true but not particularly spectacular as the hotel is much lower down. The room was large and very pleasant. Quiet with an excellent large bed. Toilet was tremendous, especially the power shower. A little light on coffee capsules but other than that it was great. Breakfast was a little disappointing. We were towards the end of service and the English breakfast really felt like it had been sitting on a hotplate for hours - hard. No offered refills of coffee and only served by waving arms around. It was quiet when we in - a beautiful round room - but we were still placed next to another couple and had to ask to move which was done without much enthusiasm. The buffet was OK. So overall we enjoyed our stay, the staff and room were great, just disappointed that the breakfast did not live up to the wonderful location.

Had a fabulous stay here. Very well positioned for the centre of Durham yet easy to find. The hotel has a car park right behind the building, it's chargeable but worth the money. Friendly staff and the amazing building itself is just a stunning blend of old with new quality fittings. Effective air conditioning in the room and a comfortable bed made for a good nights sleep. It was also very quiet at night. We didn't eat there at night but enjoyed a lovely breakfast. We will most definitely stay here again in beautiful Durham.

A truly amazing building and hotel equally matched by its staff. I have based myself and the team out of here weekly for the last 3 months and its been a pleasure every week. The staff have been brilliant, always recognising my IHG diamond status and upgrading me when available. I have been in most standards of rooms including the very best. I have never had a bad stay. The rooms have lots of character but nothing over the top, they are easy to work or relax in, plenty of room, an excellent bed, high spec TV and decent wifi. The staff from reception, breakfast and the rotunda bar were friendly, chatty and always accommodating. The location is perfect for Durham which offers plenty of great places to eat out and adventure. The slightest of downsides is the car park fill ups quickly but there is plenty of local on street parking nearby. I am going to miss these guys and their outstanding building, going back to industrial site hotels, hopefully we can get back to Indigo Durham soon.
