What visitors say
This museum is incredible! There are so many great things to see, and the airfield next to the museum is amazing too. We saw a plane with someone standing on top, a B17 taking off, spitfires flying around, the Concorde was good too. The museum is well organized and has good labels for the items generally. We spent about five hours here, in order to see everything. The aircraft are meticulously restored, with many of them suitable for flying despite their old age. The gift shop has many items and food options on the museum grounds are also good.

We visited today and wow what an experience we had, the museum was absolutely amazing!! We got talking to a lovely young apprentice called Ben who was so friendly and knowledgeable, it was wonderful to see a young person so passionate about his work, you are a credit to the museum. We would definitely recommend the museum to all. All staff were happy to answer any questions and again were so knowledgeable and friendly. To see these aircraft’s up and close was incredible. Well will definitely be back in the near future.

We visited the IWM Duxford on a Layover in London Stansted, only about 30 minutes from the airport, if you hire a car for few hours well worth the trip. Absolutely fantastic museum and facilities. We loved the fact that you can enter and see the concorde and other historical airplanes, all the volunteers are absolutely helpful and have an incredible knowledge and all are very professional. The food options are very good and service is fast this is one of the best museums we visited. If you are lucky like we were you can see some spitfires flying over as well as other WW2 WW1 planes. Fantastic trip down history lane and great way of passing few hours away from stansted airport. A1

If Heaven existed.......This would be the place! Everything about my experience here yesterday was world class..I can't believe I haven't ticked this place off and its been on my list for a very long time. I've flown an aircraft and landed here but nit actually visited the museum. Staff were great! The cafes were brilliant and served delicious food and drinks.. I loved every hangar. My favourite would be Hangar 1 Airspace & the American Air Museum. The planes hanging from the ceiling was unreal! I was just sad about the experience coming to an end as it was just perfect! Being an aviation enthusiast its like being in a dream! I am hoping to come down for the airshow as I can tell it'll be spectacular. This place is a must!
