Whitedown is a one-bedroom cottage converted from a traditional Hampshire clapper board barn, part of a former granary complex. The building sits within countryside near Alton, surrounded by woodlands and accessible to the South Downs on foot or by bike. The setting suits walkers and cyclists; an on-site riding school also offers guided treks for those who prefer to explore on horseback.
The layout is straightforward: a ground floor open plan living and dining space with kitchen, and a first floor bedroom and ensuite shower. The bedroom has two single beds that can be linked together. A patio area with garden furniture sits in the shared courtyard, useful for outdoor meals. One parking space is provided on site. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included; the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and central heating covers the colder months. No smoking is permitted.
This is a whole property to yourselves, sleeping two, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. The courtyard setting means a peaceful base without isolation—other holiday cottages are nearby but you have your own entrance and private parking.
