The Rookery – Longwool Lookout is a single-bedroom shepherd's hut standing in a 5-acre paddock near Hemingby. It takes its name from the Lincolnshire Longwool sheep grazing in the adjacent field. Ground floor throughout, the hut contains a double bed, open-plan living space with a wood burner, kitchen area with electric cooking, and an en-suite shower room. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, as is the initial fuel for the burner. Outside there is a patio with garden furniture, a barbecue and firepit overlooking the fields and pond beyond.
The village pub lies a short walk down the lane, serving food and drink. Horncastle, known for its antiques and collectables, is nearby with weekly markets and a good range of shops. The Lincolnshire Wolds are visible from the property, and the area has many walking and cycling routes. Cadwell Park is 10 minutes' drive away for motorsport events. The east coast, including Skegness and Fantasy Island, is about 30 minutes away; Lincoln with its cathedral is further inland. There is unfenced water in the paddock 100 yards from the hut. No smoking inside. One car can park on site.
