Wintonhill Farmhouse spreads across two floors of Georgian architecture on the Winton Estate near Tranent. You arrive into a property built for groups: a ground floor with living room, dining room, kitchen, games room with pool table and table tennis, plus shower room. Upstairs are six bedrooms (five have zip-and-link beds that can be configured as doubles or singles) and four bathrooms, allowing real flexibility for families or friends sharing.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, range, microwave, two fridge-freezers and dishwasher, so cooking for a crowd is manageable. An open fire warms the living spaces. The grounds include a front garden with seating and barbecue, and parking for six cars. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. One dog is welcome. The property is non-smoking.

East Lothian's coastal and rural landscape surrounds you, though Edinburgh is under 30 minutes away by car if you want a city break. Travel cots and high chairs can be arranged if needed. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.

We have just enjoyed a week at Wintonhill Farmhouse with 12 family members and a toy poodle. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy family meals together and relaxed evenings. The garden and grounds are safe for the children and dog to play outside and there are lots of options for walks in the estate. Highlights of the week were easy trips to Edinburgh, the National Museum of Flight, Rosslyn chapel, the zoo, the dog park nearby was an excellent trip for the dog too! We hope to return.

Wonderful stay for an incredibly well hosted wedding at the Winton Castle. Traveled with family and stayed at cottage- many room and TONS of common space - game room, dinning room, and cozy living room with WORKING wood fireplace. Enough bathrooms for all of us to get ready for wedding. Full kitchen, and wedding host arranged for breakfast and snack supplies so we did not have to leave property for breakfast.

Great place for 8 pals who are golfers. Lovely and quiet and plenty of space. The facilities are top notch. The only issue was the hot water but this was resolved once we found the boost button

Hosted a joint stag do over the Easter weekend for a party of 14, we are all gamers and took a lot of board games, tabletop games etc along. The accommodation was great with big comfortable rooms, plenty of space and in beautiful surroundings. The Dining room was a great size, allowing us to set up and play a number of different games, and could easily fit out whole party around it. The Kitchen also had a good sized table and generally became the focal point around meal times. The sitting room had some very comfy sofas and an open fireplace and was the favourite place to retire to in the evenings. There was also the games room in the back with a pool table, although it was the room that was used the least by our party. The bedrooms were also big and spacious and accommodated 14 with no trouble at all, we could have easily had a couple more. It's also worth mentioning that there was plenty of space to park as we had about 9 cars and there would still have been space for at least half a dozen more. As it was a gaming focused weekend we did spend the whole weekend in the house and didn't really leave. With that in mind I would say that the TV in the sitting room would have been a bit better if it was bigger. The wifi wasn't great either but I'd put that more down to there being 14 of us with numerous devices trying to use it at the once. All in all a great weekend and we are already talking about doing it again
