Saxmundham sits in the heart of East Suffolk's rural landscape, within reach of Aldeburgh, Woodbridge and the coast. The Stables is a converted stable block that forms part of a working farmstead, one of two similar conversions on the owners' property. Everything is on the ground floor: a living room with television and DVD player, a kitchen with an electric cooker and dishwasher, and four bedrooms (one double, three singles) served by a bathroom with shower over the bath.
The property overlooks a pond where ducks and lily pads form part of the garden scene. Guests have the run of four acres of grounds that include a hard tennis court—bring your own racquets and white-soled shoes—and a barbecue for shared use. On-site parking is available, and wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included. The grounds contain an unfenced pond, which matters if you're travelling with young children. One well-behaved dog is welcome. No smoking indoors.
Pubs and shops are about a mile away. Saxtead Green's 18th-century post mill is nearby, Framlingham with its castle lies two miles on, and fishing, riding and golf courses are all within ten miles. The Riverside Centre is close by for whatever it hosts during your stay.
