About Best Western York House Hotel
Royal Parade runs along Eastbourne's seafront, and Best Western York House Hotel occupies a long stretch of it, putting the promenade and beach right outside the door. From here it's a straightforward journey to Beachy Head, while the pier and town are within easy reach along the front.
The hotel has 76 rooms across five floors, many looking straight out to sea, and rooms are generally spacious with en-suite bathrooms; some are showing their age, though the sea views tend to make up for it. Facilities include a restaurant, bar and snack bar, a large indoor pool that stays warm year-round, plus a garden with outdoor seating, room service, and family and accessible rooms. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a good spread of options each morning, and staff are consistently helpful.
There's a lift for all floors, laundry and luggage storage, meeting rooms for business visitors, and a bridal suite for weddings. Golf, fishing and watersports are all available nearby, and the surrounding area is good for walking, with pubs and restaurants close by. Pets are welcome, though parking is chargeable and found nearby rather than on site.

I really love this place. It’s a home away from home for both myself and my cat, Salem. Every single member of the staff are lovely and accomodating. The room is amazing. I don’t really care about seaview, just somewhere I can rest after having been to the sea. They look after you and tend to your every need so definitely 4 stars. A tiny feedback though: I asked if they could clean my room every day at 10.30 am as I have to get my cat ready so we can go downstairs to allow them to clean. They are sometimes late, which means I have to run after the cat and catch him again. I would definitely give this hotel 10 stars if this tiny matter can be corrected. Otherwise, you will never find a better place to stay.

Absolutely incredible! So relaxing and the service was top tier. The staff are so kind and helpful- they decorated our room with balloons for a birthday celebration and did such a good job. I believe it was a man named Oscar who was in charge of that. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view of the seafront. We spent plenty of time in the pool which was big enough for multiple families and great fun. The breakfast and dinner options were varied and all delicious. Will absolutely come again, and will keep fond memories of my holiday.

Booked to stay here for one night. Some how there was a confusion over the rooms with the hotel believing I had booked 8 rooms instead of two. Finally sorted it. The room we had everything was wonky....ie toilet roll holder and towel rail. Thick dust on top of 4 poster and on the picture frames. We decided to have our evening meal there. The waitress was sweet and polite but had absolutely no knowledge of the food and drinks so keep going back to check. The starters were fine but nothing special for the price. However the mains were awful. Mine tasted like smash potato not real potato and a lump of tough fatty braised beef. My friend said the coleslaw was awful and spelt like sick. Her chicken was burnt and dry. We complained and the meals deducted of the bill as where our drinks. The restaurant was not busy so no excuse. The exit from swimming pool is through the restaurant so had people coming through whilst we were there. The noise at night from people above was awful.

A Story of Who Darrens...! I spoke to Darren the receptionist and he was exceptionally helpful with a request about my room. I had some issues (unrelated to this hotel) and so U needed to spent some time in the reception on my laptop. Another Darren - i.e. Darren the Duty Manager was es helpful as you could be. I can't recommend them highly enough. Will definitely come here again - thanks guys!
