What visitors say

We stayed 2 nights in this camping on our way to the north so we could visit the city of Edinburgh. It’s a clean en calm campsite. Although it was pretty budget friendly compared to some other campsites we visited I can’t call it cheap. But that seams to be pretty much standard in the UK. Never the less, I liked the friendliness of the owners, the calm natural environment and the clean facilities.

Another fantastic stay at Slatebarns in our tourer - fab site and a great base for Edinburgh and surrounding area. Friendly helpful team who couldn't have been nicer from booking enquiry to arrival. Lovely spacious pitches, ours had a communal grassed area at the rear which was a sun trap. Toilets and showers spotless - push button showers (adjusting how long the push button stays on for would be great if possible - another 20-30 seconds at a time would be ideal), but that is just a minor inconvenience and in no way detracted from the overall experience. Nothing on site for children although there is a play park a 10 min walk into Roslin village. Small shop, cafe and pub all nearby with bigger supermarkets a short drive away. Altogether a brilliant site and one tto which we will definitely return.

We were here in Easter and it was a very peaceful site. Nice friendly wardens. Very clean toilet block and tidy site. Great walks round and about Roslin. Very good pub food in local Inn wee walk to village. Small amount of shops for essentials. Regular bus route to take you to Edinburgh. Dog friendly. I don't think there is a late arrival area.
