About Lauderville Guest House
Lauderville Guest House occupies a traditional Victorian townhouse on Mayfield Road, one of Edinburgh's classic guest house streets, with just ten rooms kept to a manageable, personal scale. The building retains a period character while offering the practical comforts guests need for a city stay.
Rooms come with breakfast included, and the property offers free WiFi throughout. A garden gives a quiet spot to sit outside, while 24 hour reception, luggage storage, laundry service and concierge assistance cover the practical side of a stay. Free on-site parking is a genuine bonus for a property this central, sparing guests the usual Edinburgh parking search.
The surrounding area has plenty going on, with a pub, bar and restaurant all within easy reach, plus further entertainment nearby. Edinburgh Zoo adds a good day out for families, and Edinburgh Waverley station is a short distance away, making onward travel straightforward. It's a solid, well-run base for exploring the city without the price tag or scale of a larger hotel.

One of the most beautiful inns I have ever visited. Simon is very friendly (as are his parents). It's an easy walk to town if you are moderately fit. I'm 64 and it wasn't a problem. If not, Ubers are readily available.

My wife and I stayed at Lauderville Guest House for 3 nights when we landed in Edinburgh. Simon and company were phenomenal. You can tell that this is their passion and they love doing it. The room was not just clean, but spotless. The view from our window was excellent. The four poster bed was very comfortable as well. The breakfast was delicious. My wife still has not stopped talking about the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Simon is an excellent cook! The location is about a mile's walk or so from the Royal Mile, but if that's too far, there is a bus stop just up the road. Exceptional location. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A truly amazing place who rescued us at the last minute when we had lost our previous b&b. Simon and his parents are lovely. The house is immaculate, the food is amazing, the bed is comfortable, the room is spotless and you really have to try the salmon for breakfast! It's not that far from the city centre and the bus services are very frequent and very easy to catch. Add the Old Bell Inn just a 5 minute walk away for supper and it's perfect.

Amazing place to stay while exploring Edinburgh. Simon was very accommodating and helpful. Location was great; only a short Uber ride to the Royal Mile. Breakfast was great with multiple different options. Only downside would be that the 3rd floor (or 2nd floor for them) is a bit difficult to get to. Very narrow stairs that would be difficult for someone with physical limitations. Otherwise, the room I had was clean with a decent sized bathroom and a good selection of linens. Would definitely recommend staying here!
