About Sherwood Farm
Tucked into eight acres of fenland meadow on the edge of Soham, Sherwood Farm delivers proper back-to-basics camping with wildlife and wildflowers in abundance. Owned by the same family for over 70 years, this former chicken farm and cut-flower smallholding opened as a campsite in 2021, its spacious field ringed by tall hedgerows dripping with seasonal blackberries and sloes. Mown paths weave around the wildflower meadows, creating lovely walking routes without disturbing the blooms, and firepits are provided for evening barbecues under the stars.
There's no electricity here, so pack torches and spare batteries, but you will find a sheltered communal washing-up area plus a unisex toilet and shower block. The location strikes a nice balance: peaceful enough to feel genuinely rural, yet only 15 minutes' drive from Ely's cathedral city charms and 50 minutes from Cambridge when you fancy more urban stimulation.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our lovely hosts, Carol, Stu and Liz for welcoming us to your campsite. Sherwood Farm is a beautifully picturesque family friendly site, owned by a wonderfully friendly family. We stayed in the Touareg Tent, everything you needed was provided, the beds were super comfy, loved all the thoughtful little touches to make our stay perfect. The spacious pitches are well kept, we had plenty of space to pitch our own tent and park 2 vehicles on the same pitch as the Touareg Tent. The out side seating area with bbq and firepit was great for our family meals and sitting out in the evening. I loved the barn with plenty of tables chairs, charging points, a freezer with ice blocks. Great washing up area and shower/loos. The resident owl is super cool too, along side all the other wild life around. Thank you so much. Nina, Neil and family xxx 💖💖💖

We just spent a lovely weekend at this site. Carol and Stuart couldn't be more helpful. Set in such a lovely area. Facilities were really good. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the bell tent. Carol and Stu were friendly and had thought of everything. The bell tent was well equipped, the showers, toilets and washing up area was clean and the BBQ station well thought out. A very relaxing and quiet site with plenty of surrounding nature including bats and owls. Thank you for hosting us.

An incredible site, Stu & Carol have thought of everything anyone could want for a spacious, quiet, oasis in the stunning countryside . As a sole traveller with my two dogs, I was made so welcome, yet left to enjoy my very generous pitch & the tranquility of bird song & silence. The showers & toilets where grand , use of freezer & blocks & WiFi hotspot at the communal barn area where lovely touches. I would highly recommend this site for an off grid secure, secluded wee gem. I also enjoyed the short drive into the beautiful city of Ely . 100 % be back for another visit soon, look forward to seeing what Stu & Carol will continue to do in this lovely place 😊
