About Merchants Manor

Merchants Manor is a privately owned hotel set back from the seafront on Western Terrace, close to Gyllyngvase Beach, built around secluded, award-winning gardens that give the whole property a quieter, more private feel than the larger seafront hotels nearby.

Rooms range from characterful four-poster suites to more contemporary spaces, and the on-site spa and gym have been recently developed alongside the gardens. The Rastella restaurant is the centrepiece of the food offering, built around a well-regarded wine list and seasonal Cornish menus.

Its position a few minutes' walk from the beach, but away from the busiest stretch of seafront, suits couples and guests looking for a quieter, garden-set base within easy reach of the sand.

Very clean, comfy bed, excellent bedding, pillows, big towels, very polite and kind staff. Nice decor. Good sized pool, warm. Not disabled friendly, long waits for cooked breakfast, uncooked, burnt cold food. Comfy room lookout brick wall and bushes. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and very clean with very comfortable beds, lovely big bath towels, dressing gowns and towels for the pool area. The dining area and lounge/bar were pleasant and there was plenty of seating. The swimming was a good size for a hotel and very clean with a sauna and jacuzzi. The hotel is not really disabled friendly with stairs if you're not on the ground floor and 2 lots of stairs to the swimming pool. There are no steps to get into the jacuzzi so quite dangerous for older people. The cosy room my friend was in on the ground floor looked out onto a brick wall and hedge so not that pleasant. Breakfast was a hit or miss affair, unfortunately ours was a miss as it took an hour to get uncooked eggs on the first morning and an hour again to receive burnt and cold scrambled eggs on the second morning. We didn't wait as we were leaving so left without eating.

From the moment we arrived, the staff (all of them, but particularly Max) were friendly, welcoming and attentive, making us feel at home straight away. The hotel is beautifully presented, with comfortable rooms (we were upgraded to ‘the lookout’ which was wonderful), lovely garden and a relaxed atmosphere throughout. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind and recharge. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the drinks throughout our stay were of a high standard (highly recommend The Falmouth Garden - Elderflower Collins). The location is also fantastic, within easy reach of Falmouth town centre and Gylly Beach🏖️ Thank you to the whole team for such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. This is our second visit, and we would happily return again and highly recommend Merchants Manor to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Cornwall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hotel is very nice with a lovely bar and the old part of the property is particularly beautiful. Nice room but doesn’t feel particularly soundproofed- could hear a lot of action in the corridors. Gym has pretty good facilities for a hotel including a smith machine. Nice breakfast but not really any vegan options except fruit. They did avo on toast for me and just left off the eggs- which to be fair was lovely. The real standout is the staff. Every single person is absolutely lovely, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Simon is fantastic- a real professional and very kind.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Merchants Manor Hotel & Spa. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly and professional staff, who made me feel valued throughout my visit. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with stylish décor, comfortable surroundings, and a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. My room was spacious, spotless, and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The spa facilities were excellent, providing the perfect place to relax after a busy day, and the swimming pool was clean and well maintained. The food was another highlight of my stay—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour, with plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. Every member of the team was attentive, courteous, and always happy to help. The hotel's location is also ideal, offering easy access to local attractions while still feeling peaceful and tranquil. Overall, my experience exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend Merchants Manor Hotel & Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay with exceptional service. I look forward to returning in the future
