About Poltair Guest House

Sea views from many of the eleven rooms are the first thing to mention at Poltair Guest House in Falmouth, a small guest house on Emslie Rd within easy reach of the beach and the town's railway station. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, drinks provided, and free WiFi, while 24 hour reception and luggage storage make arrivals and departures straightforward. Free nearby parking is also available, useful for anyone touring the wider Cornwall coast.

Breakfast is a highlight, with a proper cooked spread each morning including vegetarian options, and the staff are consistently helpful and friendly. It's worth noting that some visitors have found the shower upkeep inconsistent, so it isn't a flawless stay for everyone, but the overall welcome and comfort make up for it.

Falmouth itself offers plenty within walking distance, from pubs, bars and restaurants to watersports and fishing along the water, plus golf, cycling and walking routes nearby for those wanting to explore further afield. Concierge services at the guest house can help point guests toward whatever suits their plans that day.

Overall I was happy with my stay. Clean and comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. Adequate storage space for luggage and clothing. Excellent location within walking distance to and from the local railway station and the beach is on your doorstep. Some fixtures and furnishings in need of attention but not a showstopper.

The room was of a reasonable size and came with a mini-fridge which i thought was a great touch. The bathroom was also nice and upto date. The ladies I met were lovely and made my family and me feel welcomed. It is an easy walk to the Gyllynsvase Beach, which you can see a smidgen of from some rooms. It was definitely a decent value for money.

Very friendly and helpful host. Friendly and polite staff. The property was well maintained and the gardens at the front had just been trimmed and looked nice. The room was tidy and very comfortable with all I needed and a great ocean view. The breakfast was really nice.

I stayed in the seagull room which has a lovely sea-view. A comfortable double bed and an ensuite bathroom. The room itself could really use a fresh coat of paint and a bit of revitalising. There were lots of marks on the walls and chipped paint. The shower also needs updating, the shower head was noticeably grimy, which was disappointing. On the positive side, The rest of the bedroom was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was decent, though fairly average. Overall, a mixed experience with great potential if the rooms receive some maintenance and care. I would say good value for money but would really need to update the shower!
