About SACO Aparthotel Farnborough

Every one of the 72 rooms at SACO Aparthotel Farnborough comes with its own kitchen, making this a serviced apartment stay rather than a standard hotel room. Set on Victoria Road in the centre of Farnborough, Hampshire, it suits anyone wanting more space and independence, whether staying a few nights or considerably longer.

Rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, strong shower pressure and beds that guests find genuinely restful. A lift serves all floors, and practical extras include free WiFi, luggage storage, laundry service and concierge assistance for anything you need sorting during your stay. There's also a garden for some outdoor space, a rarity among apartment-style stays in town centres.

The location works well for exploring on foot, with shops, supermarkets and the train station all close by, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Beyond the immediate area, golf, fishing and fishing spots, pubs, bars and restaurants are all within easy reach, along with entertainment options nearby. For business travellers or families wanting self-catering flexibility near Farnborough, it delivers on the essentials.

Absolutely appalling experience – serious hygiene and safety concerns I stayed at this hotel with my husband and daughter, and it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. The most shocking issue was the water. We unknowingly used the tap water to wash our faces and drink during our stay. On the morning we were due to leave, ants began spitting out of the tap when it wasn’t even running. When we turned the taps on, hundreds of ants flooded out into the sink from the pipes. It was absolutely disgusting and deeply concerning. Shortly after, we became violently ill. Both myself and my daughter have immune disorders, which made this even more serious. The fact that contaminated water was accessible to guests is completely unacceptable and a serious health hazard. The cleanliness of the accommodation was also extremely poor. We found dirt in multiple areas, and even pubic hair in the bedsheets, which is beyond unacceptable. The washing machine was broken (the bearing had clearly failed and it sounded like a plane taking off), and the TV had no signal throughout our stay. What made matters worse was how management handled the situation. Instead of taking responsibility, they initially accused my husband—who is autistic—of lying, which was both upsetting and inappropriate. It was only when we showed video evidence that their tone changed, and even then, the response was dismissive. The manager stormed off rather than dealing with the situation professionally. We were offered a £20 refund, which is frankly insulting given the severity of the issues and the impact on our health. I previously stayed here around 10 years ago for several weeks and had no issues, but the decline in standards—particularly hygiene and management—is shocking. This place needs urgent attention, both in terms of cleanliness and how guests are treated. We are now considering seeking legal advice. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here until these serious issues are addressed.

Firstly the staff were lovely - very polite and helpful. At first the place seemed like a solid 3-star hotel. But after one night I realised that everything I looked at was tatty and needed repair, replacement or cleaning. Everything was cracked, stained, wobbly, or dirty. I think 2-star status would be more appropriate, nothing 4-star about the place. There was no WiFi during my stay and the room seemed to be in a signal dead spot so I was unable to carry out any work or meetings in the room. Not the hotel's fault but it didn't help..

Rooms are ok, but the tools in the kitchen and the cleaning is no good. Update: I appreciate that a room change was offered, however no additional cleaning option was mentioned. As I arrived very late and was exhausted, I preferred not to move rooms again at that time. I would have been happy to accept it if cleaning had been offered. I hope this feedback is helpful for future.

I recently stayed here for one night whilst in the area on business. I used this apartment block quite regularly in 2022 and booked without hesitation. I stayed in a Club Apartment which as I have come to expect was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The front-of-house staff were, as always a delight to deal and converse with. One noticeable change from my previous stays as parking which used to be free when operated by Saco, is now chargeable at a slightly leggy rate of £7.50 per day (or more realistically overnight).
