This was definitely one of lowest profile sushi restaurant in London I had ever experienced. As learned, the restaurant abandoned all social media channels and prohibited photography inside the restaurant primarily was because the customer responses had been far too overwhelmed that went beyond their capability. They even removed the shop sign, leaving the front of the restaurant in just white paint. It was a husband-wife team with an additional lady helper that run the serving for one round of seven customers each night. Seven customer seatings were the best arrangement in there. If they catered for eight customers, it would be shoulder to shoulder that ruins the experience. The chef took pride of his work and carried out all preparations in great details. He only used the food ingredients that met with his requirements. While bringing ingredients from Japan was far too challenging and not economical, he chose ingredients from local and all other countries sources. We shared some chats with the chef, his wife and other customers, and the evening went by joyfully in nearly four hours from 6:30pm to 10:20pm. The Omakase dinner with sake pairing cost about £280 pp with service charge inclusive, and I think it was reasonable for what we got. Wish I could take some photos and share, but I also respect the will and instructions of the restaurant. Honestly, without the overtaking part, everyone focused more on the dining details and enjoyed the dinner more.

We celebrated a birthday at Sushi Tetsu, and it was a masterpiece of Japanese hospitality and craft. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable; a respectful apprentice took our coats, and the Chef’s wife greeted us warmly. The atmosphere is incredibly intimate with only 7 seats. We sat next to a lovely regular couple, and by the middle of the meal, we were all chatting and sharing our love for the food. It felt like a private dinner party. The food is on a different level entirely. The Chawanmushi was the best I’ve ever had—so fresh with hidden shrimp and scallops. Another highlight was the Yellowtail comparison: tasting fresh vs. 1-week aged fish was a revelation. The aged Yellowtail was the best I've ever tasted. Even my partner, who usually dislikes tuna, was blown away by the fatty Otoro; it had a 'crunchy' quality that redefined the fish for her. The Chef also guided us through traditional etiquette, from how to eat edamame to the 'three-finger' technique for warm Nigiri. Including a 350ml sake, the bill was just under £500 (inc. VAT and service). It was our first time spending this much on a meal for two, but it was worth every penny for the skill, the taste, and the memories. A true 10/10.

One of the hardest omakase bookings in London—and worth it. The strict rules (no photos, no perfume) actually help you fully focus on the food. Only four guests that night, which made it feel very intimate. We ended up chatting a lot with the chef—he shared stories from running the restaurant over the years and recommended a few great spots in London. Highly recommend the sake pairing—thoughtfully selected, great value… and I think I found my sake there. 🍶

An absolute masterclass. This seven-seat omakase creates something genuinely special—intimate, precise, and completely focused on the craft. The service is warm and effortless, the food exceptional, and each course lands with quiet confidence. A memorable experience from start to finish. Thank you!
