About The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell
Clerkenwell has long mixed grit with charm, and St John's Square sits at the quieter end of that story, a short walk from the area's clusters of restaurants and pubs. The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell occupies a spot on this square, giving guests a base that feels tucked away from the busier stretches of the city while remaining well placed for exploring them.
Inside, the 13 rooms lean into eccentric, characterful decoration rather than anything corporate, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi throughout, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. The Parlour bar downstairs has become something of a draw in its own right, known for homemade drinks and a snug, unusual atmosphere, while the restaurant and breakfast service cover the more straightforward needs of a stay. Concierge, laundry and luggage storage are all on hand, and the property also takes on weddings.
Staff are generally attentive and warm, though service can slow at busier times. For guests based here, Clerkenwell's own pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues are all within easy reach, making the townhouse a comfortable point to return to after a day out.

Absolutely recommended. Such a charming, aesthetically decorated hotel. You really get a proper English experience, a timeless, elegant, vintage boutique feel. The service is exceptionally kind and accommodating. Drinks and food are served in the parlour. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that go above and beyond the essentials, making you feel completely at home. The location is fantastic. I will definitely be back!

Stopped by for a light dinner. The design is lovely, the bartender was such a delight, everyone was so polite. It felt like a secret hideaway and it so cosy. However what was my most favorite was the food and drinks tasted homemade and were super delicious!!!

Im lying awake here still angry. Im based in Netherlands and the cards need to be inserted with pin often for some reason. The staff told me it was fine. I arrived with my poor friend from a nice dinner in soho, only to be great by aggressive and cold staff, saying loudly to a full room that there was no balance on my card and I needed to pay another way immediately. It was rude, embarrassing for my friend and poorly managed. If it were just me, I would have immediately left and gone somewhere else. However after I DID pay, the staff didn’t acknowledge they made an error and apologise… they kept saying why I had needed to use the link they had sent by email while I was on my night out on Good Friday!! I suggested if they found a problem they should have called as they had my number. This was dismissed. Nice hotel, apart from terrible lighting in the lift. But if they want to be what they promote, the staff need better training.
