What visitors say
July 2026: this is a fabulous place from which to explore Carsington Water and the surrounding area. The campsite is set in a pine forest and with ample sized hard standing pitches which are relatively flat. The toilet block is typical of C&MC sites so you know they are of a good or very good standard. The site has a particularly interesting dog walk which is amongst the trees skirting the boundary of the site. It is easily walkable or by bicycle to the Carsington visitor centre being about a mile away. There are also walks to be had around the perimeter of the lake back to the campsite and taking diversions into local villages is worthwhile.

We typically only stay at Caravan and Motorhome Club sites because we know exactly what to expect — clean, safe, quiet, and well-equipped facilities. That said, we think we may have found a new favourite at Carsington Water! We absolutely loved our stay here. The site is beautifully located within a stunning pine forest, with amazing walks right from the doorstep and lovely nearby villages to explore, especially Ashbourne. It’s perfect for walking, cycling, and enjoying nature. The site itself was spotless, peaceful, and felt very safe throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed all the birds and wildlife around the site. The managers were also lovely, friendly, and incredibly helpful, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in beautiful surroundings. Thank you for such a lovely stay — we will definitely be back!

A lovely caravan site nice pitches with nice spaces in between the pitches. Couple of parks for the children to play on, one for smaller children and another for the older children, and space for playing games. Nice bathroom facilities which were always clean and well stocked. All site staff were welcoming and friendly, we look forward to coming back again!
