Liquorstane is one of three apartments created from a historic house that has been a hotel and masonic lodge in its time. The building's original features—the entrance hall and restored staircase—survive alongside modern renovation throughout. Your flat occupies the first floor, with large windows letting in plenty of natural light and views towards the palace from the upper reaches of the house.
The open-plan living and dining area looks onto a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and microwave. Bedroom one is a zip-and-link bed that converts to twin singles if you ask, while bedroom two is a double. One shower room serves both. Allocated parking for two cars sits on site, and essentials like wi-fi, heating, electricity and bed linen come as standard. No smoking inside the flat.
Falkland village is a few minutes' walk away, with its cobbled streets, palace, local shops and pubs. The Falkland Estate woodland and Lomond Hills are nearby for walks. The village has featured in Outlander filming, though the real draw is simply being in a proper historic settlement rather than anywhere anonymous.
