About Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park Yorkshire

Direct access to the beach is the standout feature at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park, a family holiday park set on the coast near Filey in North Yorkshire. Guests staying here can walk straight from the site onto the sand, making it a practical base for anyone wanting the sea on their doorstep rather than a drive away.

The park is built around keeping all ages entertained, with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room and organised entertainment running alongside the accommodation. A restaurant and bar serve meals including options for children, breakfast is available, and free on-site parking and 24 hour reception cover the practical side of a stay. Laundry service is also on hand for longer breaks. It's worth noting that some of the caravans on site can be less well maintained than others, so it's fair to expect a variable standard depending on where you're placed.

Beyond the park itself, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and watersports nearby, along with walking routes, pubs and further places to eat. Staff on site are generally noted as friendly and helpful, which makes a difference when travelling with children who need extra attention. For a straightforward seaside break with plenty to keep a family occupied, the location and range of on-site activities do the heavy lifting.

Lovely large park with great facilities. The caravan was spotless and really well equipped although there was no grill rack so had to fry the bacon! The park was kept clean abd the bin points were never full. The grounds are well maintained and no rubbish or empty cups and glasses were left around. The location is right on the beach just a short walk down to the shore and the view us stunning, it looked like being abroad! Youre not near any local shops so you've got the camp shop or drive. We didn't see the evening entertainment as we didn't have the chance but both bars looked huge and spacious. Plenty of places for food and drink. The arcade staff were really friendly and attentive when my prize was stuck in the machine they were straight on it, even apologised for it getting stuck! The reason its not 5 stars is, the seagulls. I know this isn't something that they can completely control but they're everywhere! We had to make sure the bbq was constantly guarded and food only brought in and out as necessary. With that there is bird poo everywhere on the ground and up the sides of buildings. Would definitely go back

We stayed at Haven Primrose Valley, Filey, as a family of five, including our two children aged 2 and 6, and my 92-year-old grandmother who has limited mobility. The biggest highlight was our Gold caravan at A22 Rose Bank. It was high quality, beautifully finished, very clean, and in a quiet location that was ideal for the children. The beach was also fantastic: clean, safe and family-friendly, although the steep access made it difficult for young children and elderly guests. Overall, the site was good, but a few things let it down. The roads felt busy, with cars often travelling too fast, so we didn’t feel comfortable letting the children ride their bikes. The toilet facilities at the pubs and swimming pool were disappointing — dirty, cramped and not well equipped for a site of this size. Recycling facilities were limited, and there were very few bike racks. One member of reception staff was abrupt and unhelpful when we asked about Blue Badge information, which was disappointing given we were travelling with an elderly guest. However, Rachel on the outdoor activities desk was excellent — warm, welcoming, helpful and a real credit to the site. The evening entertainment was enjoyable, although venues filled up quickly, and we had already seen the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime at the Pwllheli site the previous year. Food and shop prices were high, although this is somewhat expected on a self-contained holiday site. Haven are also missing an opportunity by not having toilets and a small shop or drinks bar near the beach. Overall, the caravan and beach were excellent, but concerns about speeding cars, toilet cleanliness, and limited bike and recycling facilities would make our decision to return a close one.

What a mixed bag of an experience. I'll start with the positives: - The Staff at Wetherspoons on the site are phenomenal and don't stop. All of them deserve a medal. - The Staff at the Arcade were also brilliant and work their socks off. It's absolute chaos/bedlam in the arcade but they are all brilliant. - Location is great. - Has Public Charging but is very slow (4KwH) - Shower was a proper electric power shower - The Beach is fantastic. Negatives: - Wi-Fi. The Caravan WiFi is just about good enough for browsing. Just. Sometimes it's like being on dial-up from the late 90s. You can pay £5/day or £15/4 Days but there is no confirmation as to what speeds you'll be getting so absolutely no reason to take the risk. I stay away in hotels every week for work where the WiFi is free and fast. It's very outdated and a bit of a cash grab. I'd have thought the largest Haven Park in the UK would be the Leader/Example for all other Haven sites and maybe modernise the WiFi. - Activity Staff - We paid £24 for a 1 hour football session for two kids. Sadly the instructor was out of her depth. It was like watching a football game from the 80s when they played the match, kids kicking 10 lumps out of each other. My advice would be to get a whistle as well. Almost ended up with two parents having a scrap as the kids were fighting on the pitch. - Caravan - 4x of us in a Caravan (6x Birth/3 bedrooms) and we had the smallest fridge again you'd have expected from a Caravan holiday in the 90s. Just about fit 4 pints of Milk, Butter and some Bacon in. My brother who was in the caravan next to us had a 4 birth/2 bed and had a full sized fridge freezer - we had booked the same caravans/tier. My sister again in a 4 birth also had a large fridge freezer and my other brother (a 6 birth) again a large fridge freezer. We seemed to have got the luck of the draw with the tiny fridge with a small freezer compartment you can just about fit 2x ice creams in. - Swimming Pool (main one) - quite small and outdated. Has a slide, stepping stone challenge and a baby/toddler area, but again it's a bit outdated. Now, have the negatives made the holiday a bad experience? Nope. There are 17x of us here across 4x caravans and holidays are always who you are with and what you do with those people.

Stayed in a lovely gold caravan, 5 mins away from the central area, 10 mins walk to beach. 5 mins drive to Filey centre. Accomodation for a family of four was clean and modern with great facilities. Live entertainment cheesy but fun and arcades ok for kids, ok fast food options and a coop shop. Our swimming experience wasn't great - used plasters and baby wipes in the pool, used nappy and bloody tissues in the changing rooms. Also no WiFi or data available in the accomodation, only towards the more central areas, a negative at first but it meat our children had to interact and play games with us, so a positive really.
