What visitors say
Quite peaceful campsite close to nature, beautiful scenery, large plots. Which are laid out. Safety regulations are important tents and cars must be in their plots. you are free to move around as you like during the day and in the evening everything is tidied away that can be blown away. The walk into Barnard Castle is stunning and relatively easy, It’s well laid out. With a walk past a sheep field of working farm horse fields through a forest down at babbling Brook over a river across the road, pretty steep Hill if you take the riverside walk with Barnard Castle itself in front of you which is next to the High Street, lots of everything Cats pubs, restaurants, coffee shops a 30/40 minute walk at a comfortable pace. Staff at the campsite are very nice, helpful, facilities are kept to a very high standard. There’s playing field next to the park to play football etc. the dog walk which is close to the playground was an absolute blessing.

Site spotless and the staff were very friendly, I do like when the warden takes you to the pitch and you are advised how to park. The toilets were clean and were in the process of a new roof being put on, not a issue. I would definitely advise about not taking your caravan or Motorhome through the centre of the town due to it being a bit tight, not saying it's impossible but easier approach via the B6277. Barnard Castle is around 1.5 miles from the site by foot however I never walked it. Barnard Castle has all you would need regarding takeaways and supermarket. I would definitely return.

We received a friendly welcome, were given a choice of pitch. Hard standing and grass pitches all are a good size. Facilities are not the newest, but were clean and functional. Off road walk to Barnard Castle, dog area and children's play area.
