About Premier Inn Fort William

Premier Inn Fort William suits travellers who want a no-fuss base for tackling Ben Nevis or exploring the wider Highlands without paying for frills. Set over two floors near Loch Iall An Aird, it works equally well for a walking holiday, a road trip stop, or a family visit, with free on-site parking taking away one of the usual headaches of touring this part of Scotland.

The 103 rooms are en-suite, with some looking out over the loch or surrounding mountains, and there are accessible rooms available too. Some rooms could do with a bit more upkeep, but staff are consistently described as helpful, which goes some way to smoothing that over. There's a restaurant on site serving breakfast and evening meals, along with drinks available in the room, though service there can be patchy at busier times.

Fort William itself is close by for shops, pubs and other places to eat, while golf, fishing and horse riding are all within reach for those wanting more than a walk up Ben Nevis. Reception operates around the clock, useful for early starts on the hills or late arrivals off the road.

Excellent stay in premier inn Fort William. Room was clean and warm. Bed was very comfy. Very quiet slept well. Best shout goes to the breakfast staff. Chef did a brilliant job & i so looked forward to my cooked breakfast every morning. A solid 11/10 from me. Extremely good value too. I found eating out to be quite expensive but that breakfast offered the best value around. All in all thank you a good stay!

Good Location, But Our Stay Did Not Meet Expectations The main advantage of staying at Premier Inn Fort William is its excellent location. It is within walking distance of the town centre, the railway and bus stations, and several shops, making it a convenient base for exploring Fort William. Unfortunately, our overall experience did not reflect the standard we have come to expect from Premier Inn. We stayed for five nights in a Premier Plus room and paid nearly £1,300, which we felt was not good value for money. The room was relatively small, and some amenities we had expected to be included, such as slippers, a dental kit, and a room telephone, were not available. We later learned that some of these items could be purchased separately, but this was not explained to us at check-in. The breakfast was also disappointing. On each morning of our stay, one or more breakfast items were unavailable, even as early as 8:45 a.m., and were not replenished promptly. We also felt that the quality of the breakfast could have been better. The dining area appeared to be understaffed, which meant that tables were often left dirty or sticky. In addition, the restroom attached to the breakfast area was not clean. Housekeeping was another area where our experience fell short. Despite requesting room cleaning, we returned one day to find that our room had not been serviced, with overflowing bins and used towels still in the room. While we informed reception, the issue did not seem to receive much attention. The air conditioning in our room also did not function properly, as it repeatedly switched itself off. During the warm summer weather, this made the room quite uncomfortable. The hotel kindly provided us with a small fan, which we appreciated, but we had expected the air conditioning to work properly, particularly in a Premier Plus room. Overall, we felt that many of these issues were likely a result of the hotel being understaffed rather than a lack of effort from the employees themselves. The staff we interacted with were polite and appeared to be doing their best under challenging circumstances. However, it also seemed that the property would benefit from greater investment in maintenance and management oversight. The exterior of the hotel, with overgrown weeds around the building, also gave the impression that maintenance had been overlooked. While the location is excellent, we do not feel the experience justified the price we paid. We have stayed at several other Premier Inn hotels and have had better experiences elsewhere. We hope management takes these comments on board, as this hotel has the potential to offer a much better guest experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with the customer service. After checking out, I realized I had left my sunglasses in the room. I emailed the hotel immediately with all the details and even offered to pay for shipping. After receiving no response, I sent a second follow-up email, but that was also completely ignored. Whether the item was found or not, I would have appreciated a simple reply. Ignoring guests’ emails about lost property is unprofessional and extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend staying here. A 30-second reply saying “we couldn’t find it” would have been far better than no response at all.

Location and staff are great 👍 A week before we were due to arrive, we were told there would be no restaurant available in the evening. This seems to happen a lot with Premier Inns. There was no bar available either. Staff were great although they appeared to be severely understaffed. Everything else was very good though.
