About Roam West
Venison loin, lamb kofta and haggis on the same menu set the tone at Roam West, a hotel at Inchree near Fort William with its own restaurant and bar serving Scottish dishes to a fairly high standard. Rooms are en-suite, clean and well-equipped, with some laid out as family rooms and others offering mountain views, kitchen facilities and drinks available in room. Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive, and the bar area is dog-friendly, making it a comfortable base for those travelling with pets.
Guests have access to free WiFi, breakfast, kids' meals and 24 hour reception, along with free on-site parking. Some visitors have found the rooms on the pricier side, though the overall standard of comfort and service tends to justify a stay for those exploring the area. Beyond the hotel, there's a golf course, fishing and further pubs, bars and restaurants within reach, alongside general entertainment options nearby. It suits those wanting a straightforward, well-run base in the Highlands rather than a destination in itself.

We only used the restaurant so can’t comment on the rooms but the food was incredible! A lovely homely type pub/restaurant you’d feel just as comfortable here in your walking gear as you would nice jeans and a top. Perfect walking distance from the Bunree campsite. I got the fish and chips, the chips have to be the best I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t know how you cook them but never ever change it! Service was great and staff were really friendly. Couldn’t recommend more.

We enjoyed our stay at Roam West for 3 nights. Having the shared kitchen area was great. I enjoyed my breakfasts in there. We had a dinner in the restaurant twice. The venison pie was delicious and a very large serving. Beds were comfy, room was nice and cozy. There is a walk up to Inchree Falls just up the road which we really enjoyed. Not too strenuous but uphill so nit for everyone but my sister who isn't very fit and asthmatic didn't have any issues with it. Drying room and washing machine were fantastic to have after doing a few hikes 👌 Great base for visiting attractions in the area. Cons - not really an issue but they only give you the code to access the rooms at check in. We had to ask for the codes to get into the shared kitchen with the washing machine and the drying room. It would be great to have that in the general room information provided with the qr code.

Great meal! The place is super cozy with its little fairy lights, candles, and wooden decor. The food was delicious—we had the soup of the day for starters, the venison pie and venison sausage for mains, and the cheesecake for dessert (wow!). On top of that, our waiter was really friendly and very funny! Thank you for the warm welcome :)

A great find! We came across Roam West after searching for a stop over between our adventure in Glen Nevis range/Fort William and Glencoe. We drove to the pub carpark, asked about stopping over in our campervan, the owner was very friendly and booked us a table for us to enjoy a meal. Our dog Tilly was welcomed and was definitely a hit with all the staff and customers, it is a very dog friendly environment in the bar area. The place itself is lovely and the highlight was the service from the new Polish waiter. The recommendations of the fish and chips and venison was delicious and the tip to swap plates half way through, meant that we got the best of both. Capping off the night with the local whisky flight was perfect. Highly recommend this place as a pub stopover and for food and drinks (my other half was a fan of the local ale on tap too). Thank you.
