About Delta Hotels Newcastle Gateshead by Marriott
Gateshead's Metrocentre shopping complex is the backdrop for Delta Hotels Newcastle Gateshead by Marriott, a five-floor hotel built for both visiting shoppers and business travellers, with Newcastle itself within easy reach. Free on-site parking makes it a straightforward base whether you're arriving by car for a weekend at the centre or passing through for meetings nearby.
The hotel has 150 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, plus drinks in the room and room service for those who'd rather not head out. There's a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast available each morning, and kids' meals catered for. An indoor swimming pool, gym and spa/sauna give guests something to do beyond the shops, and there's a hot tub too.
Beyond leisure, the property covers practical ground well: meeting rooms and business services for work trips, a wedding venue for events, and laundry and luggage storage for longer stays. Pets are welcome, and a garden offers a quieter spot away from the retail bustle. Golf, pubs and restaurants are all nearby, alongside entertainment options and further places to eat.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms, which often include deep bathtubs and excellent shower pressure, as well as its well-equipped gym and good pool area. The friendly staff and convenient location near the Metro Centre are also frequently highlighted.
Some reviews mention the service can be inefficient.
