About Argyll Western Hotel

Breakfast at the Argyll Western Hotel comes with a wide choice of options, and the on-site restaurant and bar give guests somewhere to eat and drink without leaving the building. It's a small hotel, with just 17 rooms, set in Glasgow's West End close to Kelvingrove Park and the area's cultural attractions.

Rooms are kept clean and comfortable, with free WiFi and air conditioning throughout, though some have been known to run cold, so it's worth packing an extra layer or asking about heating on arrival. Concierge staff are on hand to help with local recommendations and practical requests.

Free on-site parking is a useful bonus in this part of the city, and the West End location puts guests within easy reach of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, as well as the park and the cultural sights close by. I had a really enjoyable stay here during my recent trip to Glasgow’s West End. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed for a relaxed stay—nothing over the top, but clean, cosy, and perfect for unwinding after a day exploring. The location is the real standout. It’s an ideal base for discovering the West End, which is easily one of the most vibrant and charming parts of the city. You’re just a short stroll from the beautiful Glasgow Botanic Gardens and the ever-lively Kelvingrove Park, both of which are well worth visiting, the latter especially if you’re a dog person!! Another huge bonus is the proximity “the clockwork orange”, Glasgow’s famed subway system, making it incredibly easy to get around the city quickly and efficiently, just try get a seat or get ready to hold on while it rockets from stop to stop, and don’t plan on any serious thinking as you’ll defo experience what the Scottish call the “shoogle”, essentially your brain rattling along in concert with the subway 🤣 Still highly recommended as a means to get around!! On top of all that, the staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and very helpful throughout my stay, which really made a difference. Overall, a great spot if you’re looking for a comfortable stay in a fantastic location. I’d happily stay here again.

Needed a convenient location to go to a gig at Oran Mor. This hotel was perfect with it being less than a 5 min walk away. As a solo female I wanted to feel safe as had not visited this area before. This place was perfect and I would visit / stay there again.

The room I had is perfect for one person , maybe two, reasonably priced and close to many things. I really did enjoy my stay. The man on duty at night is super helpful and very knowledgeable about sites in the area. Give this place a try.
