About Hampton by Hilton Glasgow Central
Anyone after an easy, well-connected stay in the city centre will find Hampton by Hilton Glasgow Central a solid choice, on West Campbell Street. It suits business travellers needing to be near meeting venues and transport links just as well as weekend visitors keen to walk to the shops, theatres and nightlife without relying on taxis.
The hotel has 88 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. Facilities extend to a gym, a bar and restaurant on-site, meeting rooms for those combining work with travel, and practical extras like laundry service and luggage storage. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a buffet spread that guests single out, and the showers get a mention too. It's worth noting that some rooms have shown signs of wear, so this is a better fit for those prioritising location and service over polished finishes.
Staff are consistently described as helpful and friendly, which counts for a lot on a short city break. Glasgow's rail stations, entertainment venues and a golf course nearby are all within reach, and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants close by for evenings out. Parking is available nearby for a fee, useful for anyone arriving by car.
What guests say
The bathroom was unacceptable. I had to wear flip-flops in the shower because the drain was clogged, causing the water to pool around my feet. The sink also drained very slowly. Housekeeping was below expectations. Between nights, they only made the beds. They did not empty the garbage bins, replace the used glasses, or provide fresh towels. As a Hilton Honors guest, we were supposed to receive complimentary bottled water, but none was provided. When we asked, we were told to drink the tap water instead. This would have been less of an issue if the used glasses had at least been replaced by housekeeping, but they weren't. The air conditioning and heating also did not work properly. The only positives were the breakfast, which offered a good variety of options, and the staff, who were friendly and welcoming. Overall, this was a disappointing stay. I expected much better from a Hilton property and could not wait to check out. I would not stay here again.

We stay at Hilton properties and this hotel is much better than many Hilton. 1) the rooms with two beds are actually doubles rather than twins (shockingly, a Double Tree in Edinburgh had twins); 2) they have cozy blankets if you need extra warm coverage; 3) they have a coffee corner with coffee machines where you can make your own and it's available 24/7, at no cost; 4) yummy hot and cold breakfast options; 5) option to leave the bags with reception to go out and explore the town; 6) the staff is very nice and easy to talk to and last, the rooms are very comfy and clean. Our room didn't have a fridge though, but I'll give up the fridge for a bed bigger than a twin 😄 - Double Tree in Edinburgh needs to pay attention 😉.

We were on the 5th floor in a twin room. The TV was massive with toiletries included. There was a fitness centre open 24/7 as was the bar.Stayed here for 3 nights. Can’t fault it, the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention for Ari who always did everything with a smile. Also Thomas - lots of us descended on the bar late on Sunday night after the Def Leppard concert. Nothing was too much trouble and the queue was dealt with quickly. Breakfast was awesome with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Great location too.Stayed end of June 2026. I will return.

Very good location walking distance 10 min to city centre lots of restaurants and cafes near by. Parking 🅿️ 10 min walk 24 hours around £8,- Clean room. Value for money. Staff very friendly and welcoming. 24 hours bar. Big LED TV. Comfortable bad. The room I had was quiet. Downside the shower 🚿 pressure is low. I’ll recommend it.
