About Kimpton Blythswood Square

Blythswood Square is the most complete Georgian set piece in central Glasgow, and this hotel occupies the entire terrace on its southern side, a building that spent much of the twentieth century as the headquarters of the Royal Scottish Automobile Club. The conversion kept the proportions and the sweeping staircase while adding a contemporary interior of Harris tweed, dark timber and muted greys.

Rooms range from compact city categories to suites overlooking the square gardens, all with deep beds and good bathrooms. The spa in the basement is unusually large for a city-centre hotel, with thermal suites, a relaxation pool and a full treatment list, and it is the main reason many guests book here rather than elsewhere in the grid.

Eating and drinking is handled by the Salon restaurant and a bar that takes its whisky list seriously. Location is the other selling point: Sauchiehall Street is two minutes away, Buchanan Street and both mainline stations under ten, and the walk down to the Clyde takes about fifteen. Expect the highest rates in the city on Hydro concert nights and during Celtic Connections.

Was gifted a thermal spa and dine for two for my birthday and went on Monday. What an experience- I’m not know to relax enough to enjoy a spa- but this experienced made that impossible. I was so chilled afterwards and felt so clean. Lots of different wee nooks and crannies to dip in and out of. Shout to Laura who called to help me with my booking you have a lovely manner. The rest of the staff were polite enough on the day but Laura you brought the enthusiasm on the call- thank you. The food we had was also delicious. Genuinely filled with lots of lovely flavours. I would throughly recommend this experience to anyone looking to come out feeling a million dollars. I can’t wait to come back

We have stayed at the Blytheswood on many occasions when we visit Glasgow from Canada. Unfortunately, on one of our last visits several years ago we did not have a good stay and questioned whether we would return to this hotel. We recently travelled to Glasgow and decided to give the Blytheswood another chance and we are so glad we did!! The hotel more than redeemed itself. We visited the beautiful spa and ate twice in the restaurant. Huge shoutout to Ava and Sam in the restaurant for your exceptional service! Chloe at the front desk was so very helpful. The room was lovely and we were so happy to see the return of the salon. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be returning. Keep doing what you’re doing!!

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location. Check in was super smooth. Concierge service was truly a five star experience with John Scott giving us a fantastic orientation about the hotel’s amenities and surrounding area. Cases delivered to the room while enjoying the kimpton happy hour from 4-5 what an amazing idea. Rooms were well equipped and the very near to the elevator. The breakfast was first class and the full Scottish definitely hit the mark. Was a joy to watch the 2 female chefs smash out all the orders without an ounce of stress showing. The restaurant in charge was very attentive. Overall a fantastic stay with a great location to anywhere in glasgow town.

We have stayed at this beautiful hotel many times and always love everything about it , the staff are so friendly and helpful, David the concierge is always a happy person and gives us good advice on where to eat and visit. Every time we stay we have seen celebrities also staying here so that says something about the place. The rooms are fabulous , so clean and luxurious with a free mini bar and lovely snacks. We’re returning next week for another lovely stay and can’t wait. I wonder who we will see this time. Looking forward to returning.
