About Premier Inn Glasgow Newton Mearns M77 J4
Premier Inn Glasgow Newton Mearns M77 J4 works well for anyone passing through by car, breaking a longer journey, or basing themselves on the edge of Glasgow for a few days out. With free on-site parking and easy access from the motorway junction, it suits families heading to Loch Lomond as much as it does business travellers needing a straightforward overnight stay.
The hotel has 60 rooms spread across three floors, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities, plus a lift and accessible rooms for those who need them. Rooms are consistently described as clean, modern and comfortable, with beds that hold up well after a long drive. There's an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, and 24 hour reception means late arrivals aren't a problem.
Nearby, Rouken Glen Park offers space for a walk, while The Avenue Shopping Centre covers everyday shopping needs, and Loch Lomond is within reach for a proper day trip. A pub, bar and other eateries sit close by too. Staff are consistently praised for being helpful, and the hotel is generally seen as good value, though the Wi-Fi doesn't always hold up as well as the rest of the stay.
What guests say
The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was good. Unfortunately, I'm giving this hotel 3 stars because the cleanliness of our room fell well below expectations. We found old pieces of food on the carpet and hairs in the bed, which was very disappointing. After a long journey, I considered asking to be moved to another room, but I simply didn't have the energy to deal with the inconvenience. While the excellent staff deserve recognition, the standard of cleanliness would prevent me from staying here again.

The room at Premier Inn Glasgow Newton Mearns was clean, comfortable and quiet. Be aware, though, that your room won't be serviced unless you specifically arrange it with reception. Unfortunately, our experience with The Social restaurant and bar was very disappointing. Reception told us they had "managed to squeeze us in", yet when we arrived there were only two people in the restaurant, and they were just having drinks. Although the menu looked promising, we waited around 45 minutes for food that was largely made up of boil-in-the-bag rice, packet sauces and microwaved items. The prices certainly didn't reflect the quality. It filled a gap, but that's about all I can say. We also discovered that last orders at the bar were before 9.45 pm, and by 9.50 pm another couple were turned away for drinks. Afterwards we crossed the road to the Hungry Horse, where we found a warm welcome, a lovely atmosphere, much better-looking food and cheaper prices. We stayed for three nights and didn't return to The Social after the first evening. The room itself was good, so I would consider staying again, but I'd definitely make alternative arrangements for food and drinks.

Last minute booking, while moving house. Booked at 8pm and checked in at 9:30pm. Night reception staff really friendly. Secure in that only those with a keycard can buzz through to the elevator/rooms. Bedroom was all ready. Perfect layout and spacious family room with a double, single and camp/sofa bed. Facilities for a cuppa which was needed. Breakfast in the morning in the restaurant was excellent food and service.
