About NELSON Hotel

Great Yarmouth's seafront, pubs, restaurants and entertainment are all within easy reach of the NELSON Hotel on Marine Parade, and there's fishing and a golf course nearby too, making it a straightforward base for exploring the town on foot or by car. Free on-site parking takes the hassle out of arriving with a vehicle.

The hotel has 50 rooms, including family options, all with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in-room. Guests can expect free WiFi, a lift for easier access, and breakfast served on-site, along with a restaurant and bar for meals and drinks without needing to head out. A spa and sauna are available for guests who want to unwind, and there are meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay. Luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures.

The restaurant has a reputation for good, hearty cooking, with the lasagne getting particular praise, and staff are consistently described as helpful and willing to go the extra mile. That said, room upkeep can be inconsistent and the food menu has been noted as somewhat limited, so it suits guests after a friendly, well-located stay rather than a polished luxury finish.

Just returned from a superb five day annual coach holiday here with my elderly mother. It was lovely! The location, the room, the food.. But most of all the staff. They all work incredibly hard to ensure every guest is looked after. In our case this started before we'd even arrived, with a call to the Manager Nikki regarding a request re our room, resulting in a perfect room for our needs. Thankyou Nikki you and all your staff were amazing and we will definitely recommend you to everyone, and stay again if we are in the area.

This hotel is very dated. We had a room at top of building, room was clean but toilet was a different story, was reasonably clean but enamel in bath badly chipped, toilet roll holder was behind your back!!! The door. Dry difficult to open and no good for a tall person. Bedroom although clean could do with updating, curtains were too short for the rail therefore early sun shone through and had old paint on them. The bed that I occupied had broken springs in the divan and it was pointless reporting as nothing got done. Breakfasts were ok but only fried eggs if you asked for any other type you had to wait at least 20 minutes. Dinners were questionable although edible you were restricted! Starters were served to you but the main was served buffet style, the minute the last person in the queue was served everything was cleared away and no offer of seconds!! With one meal there was garlic bread served but you were only allowed one slice, if you asked for another well enough said! Desserts were served to you. If you wanted tea or coffee you got it yourself. I could write a book on this hotel but have tried to cover as much as possible for anyone thinking of staying here. I definitely would never go back.

The location was great and very convenient, but unfortunately the hotel itself was disappointing. There was no warm welcome on arrival, and the car park turned out to be a public one rather than for guests. The building felt very old and poorly maintained. My room had cracked tiles in the bathroom, only hot water in the shower, and the toilet actually moved when used. There were cobwebs in the room and even a leak coming from the ceiling. With proper upkeep and better hospitality, this could be a good place to stay, but in its current condition it really needs attention.

Just finished a 3 night break , staff super friendly we were upgraded to the Nelson Suite which did not dissappoint. Full of charm with views from the Welling to Brittania Pier. On our last evening a coach load had checked in and it was lovely to see the bar busy and buzzing with conversation. Thank you for looking after us couldnt ask for better. We will be making a return trip in the future
