Tor Hatch Cabin

The Surrey Hills around Guildford are threaded with cycle routes and footpaths linking villages and farmland pubs. Tor Hatch Cabin puts you at the heart of it: a single-bedroom hideaway on a private drive where you can walk straight into those quiet lanes, or gear up a bike from the on-site store. The cabin sits in the grounds of a larger house, with its own garden area, decked terrace and barbecue for the evening.

The cabin itself is compact and ground-floor throughout. A kingsize bed, shower room, and a properly fitted kitchen with oven, hob and dishwasher means you can cook or simply heat things up between days out. The living room has a woodburner and smart TV with Netflix; French doors open onto your decked area and the valley views beyond. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. One dog is welcome and can be kept in the garden while you venture out—there's an unfenced pond 200 yards away, so keep that in mind.

Use of the owner's heated swimming pool is available by arrangement for an additional charge (May to September). The cabin sleeps two and is yours alone. From here, London's outer suburbs are within 30 minutes' drive if you need to venture that far.
