Bwthyn Llechi (Slate Cottage)
Gwynedd
Bwthyn Llechi sits in Blaenau Ffestiniog, a historic slate-mining town now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The surrounding area draws walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and kayakers year-round; the Cambrian Angling Association is based here for those keen on fishing. Within a short drive lie some of Wales's best-known attractions: the underground slate caverns and adventure park at Llechwedd, the Snowdonia peaks accessed from Betws-y-Coed, and further along the coast, Harlech Castle and Black Rock Sands.
The cottage is a traditional stone-built property arranged over two floors. Three bedrooms sleep six: two doubles upstairs and a bunk room, plus one bathroom with a bath and shower. Downstairs, a living and dining room contains a woodburner and television, while the kitchen is equipped for self-catering and includes a washing machine. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, along with wifi. A pub is within easy walking distance. An enclosed garden offers a private outdoor space. The property is non-smoking and welcomes one well-behaved pet.
