Plas Bryn Hir

Criccieth's position on the Llyn Peninsula makes it a natural base for exploring Cardigan Bay's beaches and villages. Plas Bryn Hir sits within walking distance of the town's seafront, golden sand and independent shops. This Grade II listed Georgian house, with its wide shallow staircases built for 18th-century fashions, feels like stepping into another era—though the comforts are entirely modern.

The ground floor spreads across multiple rooms: a sitting room with a woodburner, a dining room, and a family space that occupies what was once the ballroom. The kitchen is fitted for serious cooking, with a Rangemaster range and substantial storage. Upstairs are six bedrooms across two floors. Four have ensuite bathrooms; the others share facilities. Beds range from super-kingsize to singles, giving flexibility for different group compositions. Linen, towels and wi-fi are supplied. The property accepts one pet, staying free.

An enclosed garden with barbecue and furniture opens onto the grounds. There is parking, a bike store and an electric vehicle charging point. The house is yours alone. Smoking is not permitted inside. Check-in is after 4pm, check-out before 10am.

We stayed as a group of 16 adults for a long weekend and climbed Snowdon. The house is spacious and easily accommodated us. The pool table and table tennis table were a big hit. As was the covered barbeque and tennis court. Great views of the sea and hills. The property is very clean and the owners were extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Plas y Brenin. Sea view and amazing cycling walking and paddleboarding made the week so fun. Tremadogg is pretty close for a big of rock climbing. The rooms were really clean and there was everything we could wish for in the kitchen something we have missed in other houses.

Had a fantastic stay at Bwthyn Yr Ardd last month! The games room in the barn was especially popular with the younger members of the family and there are so many things to do in the surrounding area. Our favourites were, Abersoch beach, Borth y Gest and Portmerion was a fun day out. Something worth bearing in mind when visiting Borth y Gest, don’t be put off by the look of the little harbour as you park up, there are gorgeous little beach coves if you walk the path along the coastline! Bwthyn Yr Ardd is in a great location to explore the beauty of the Llyn Peninsula, thanks for a lovely stay.
