A family-owned and managed hotel a ten-minute walk from Harrogate town centre and Valley Gardens, with a licensed bar and restaurant.

About Ascot House Hotel

Ascot House Hotel is a family-owned and managed property on Franklin Road, within easy walking distance of Valley Gardens and around ten minutes from the town centre. It offers a range of ensuite rooms across standard, superior and family categories, run with the kind of personal attention that comes from independent ownership rather than a chain.

A licensed bar and restaurant on site serves breakfast and evening meals, and the hotel's own car park is a useful advantage in a town where central parking is limited. Its position close to Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr suits visitors wanting to be near the gardens rather than directly in the thick of the shops.

Ascot House suits couples and families looking for a straightforward, well-run mid-range base with the convenience of on-site parking and dining, a short and pleasant walk from Harrogate's main attractions.

It was OK, a few things would have made it a lot better, it's a lovely building with historic features but certain things let it down. The bed was awful, paid extra for a bigger bed but it wasn't bigger just two single beds put together. really uncomfortable,in desperate need of a new mattress. carpet in the room was grubby, very creaky floor boards in room, and not enough towels. Two bath towels but what do you do with your hair? Mould around the bath, and the heating is turned off frequently. At one point there was no hot water either. it feels like everything is rationed in there, one biscuit with the tea tray in a double room. One piece of toast with your breakfast when I asked to have my toast with my breakfast instead of ten minutes before, server audibally sighed, like it was a major inconvenience. For the price of £200 I expected better

Lovely old building in a nice part of town. 10-15 min walk (downhill) to the centre. Room was great and spacious. Large bathroom. Breakfast superb. Staff were nice/ friendly. £67 / night was an absolute bargain for this. Car parking is tight. Couldn't get my van in. Luckily i was able to park for free on the adjacent side street. Old building and walls mean there is not much the hotel can do about this, but if you are coming here (and you should) factor in the parking.

I recently stayed at this premises and enjoyed the stay. The staff were excellent , friendly and efficient. My television was the only problem as it was getting old and the controller did not work properly. The breakfast was wonderful especially as you got two eggs. Our waiter was a fellow Scotsman and we had a great chat. To summarise it was a nice stay at a very good price and l would highly recommend a stay here.
