About Bank House Farm

Bank House Farm sits just outside Hartington in the Peak District, offering spotless facilities that campers consistently praise – warm showers, immaculate loos, and hot water at the washing-up sinks make life comfortable after a day on the trails. The site spreads across meadow and top fields with generous pitch spacing, so you get genuine breathing room alongside those lovely Derbyshire views. There's a good range of pitch types from simple non-electric grass plots to fully serviced hardstandings, plus campfires are allowed and dogs are welcome.

The on-site shop stocks essentials, friendly staff keep everything running smoothly, and there's a decent pub within easy reach for nights when you can't face the camp stove. It's a peaceful, well-maintained base for exploring the Peak District – though with 87 pitches across multiple fields, it's more functional touring site than wild hideaway.

What visitors say

We stayed here for 2 nights in May as a family with a 3 year old and a dog. Grass pitch with electric hook up. Friendly staff made for a smooth check in. We stayed on the top field and the views were spectacular, with a short walk to the main area/toilets/shop etc Some other great take away points: - Clean, spacious warm showers with benches to get ready at. The radio is played in the shower/toilet block which is a great touch. Underfloor heating made a real difference on the chilly evening toilet trips and early morning showers. - HOT water at the undercover washing up facilities, again, with the radio played in there. Large sinks, bowls and drainers. - Laundry facilities to wash and dry clothes if needed - Small well stocked shop - Fridges and Freezers available for use in the washing up unit - Book buy/swap shelf - Lovely pub over the road - Pizza van Saturday Night - Food van providing hot breakfasts weekend mornings - Strict no noise policy from 10pm for 8am - Fire pits for rent - Dog exercise field (but there are so many lovely walks nearby) All in all, a lovely stay. Would recommend and return.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was great. The lots for tents were certainly big enough with enough electrical outlets for 1 or 2 each . Shower facilities and toilets were cleaner everyday and were to good standard Fridge freezer was available for all to use which was handy Dryer and washing machine were available at a price - we didn’t use these. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and informative and the shop had good stock available at a reasonable price

Such a beautiful campsite, it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The surrounding towns were absolutely beautiful too, with plenty to explore and enjoy. Everything was well maintained, peaceful, and made for a great getaway. I would definitely book again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely camping experience.

Beautiful campsite with some pitches next to a small river. A little shop selling essentials. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Also a pub across the road selling fine ales. Highly recommended we will be back. Thank you.
