About Grand Hastings
Grand Hastings suits visitors after an uncomplicated seaside stay rather than a luxury retreat: a small hotel with 14 rooms on Grand Parade, right in the heart of Hastings, East Sussex. The building dates back to 1832, and while the rooms themselves are kept simple, several come with balconies looking out over the sea, which makes up for the modest decor.
Rooms are en-suite, with family rooms available for those travelling with children, and each has free WiFi and the option of drinks brought to the room. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for evening meals and a drink after a day out, plus a garden to sit in when the weather allows. Breakfast is included, giving guests an easy start before heading out for the day. The hotel also operates as a wedding venue for those planning a celebration by the coast.
Hastings itself offers plenty within easy reach, with fishing, watersports, cycling routes and walking trails all nearby, alongside a good spread of pubs, restaurants and other places to eat. It's a fair base for anyone wanting a no-fuss hotel close to the seafront and the town's amenities, rather than a polished, high-end escape.

What guests say
We were greeted at the door by hotel manager Peter, who showed us to the reception desk, gave us a choice of rooms, was incredibly accommodating, and was full of interesting stories about Hastings. There is no way we would have received that level of service from one of the big hotel chains! Fantastic location right on the seafront. A memorable trip! Thank you.

Stayed here for the Pirate festival, the owner was the loveliest man we've ever met! Very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He even gave us a sea view because we were pirates for the day! The room was clean with tea and coffee provided. Will most definitely stay here again! 😊

The old man that runs the hotel is so so kind and very accommodating. The room was good with a sea view, however could do with a bit of modernisation. Easy access to Hastings town/ old town. Overall great stay!
