The Green Man Inn

We stayed here for a family wedding and couldn’t recommend highly enough. The rooms were immaculate and stylish, the pretty gardens were shady on a hot day, and lunch and breakfast were delicious and very nicely presented. Amanda on Reception looked after us with great warmth and efficiency and did everything to make us feel welcome. It’s a lovely ☺️ lace.

Stopped here on our castle road trip of the UK. Its a very nice hotel with lovely rooms and a very nice beer garden that has an outside bar that I guess is used when its busy. The hotel is also in very nice location. Also we booked it very last minute so was very well priced. There is plenty of parking and has free WiFi. Staff are friendly and the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that the kitchen was closed 2 hours earlier than stated hours so we had to go elsewhere for food. At night this place/area is very dark (not even any street lights) with just a few external pub lights on and its very quiet and very peaceful. Loved it!

Professional and informative check in. Room was very clean and had all the amenities required for a pleasant stay. Restaurant staff were very tentative and the menu was very well organised. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant. When I pay for a hotel room I am paying for all of the amenities within the hotel. The one thing that makes me return to a hotel is the people. They are the difference that makes the difference. How they engage and interact is crucial for a stay. Today at breakfast I found a true gem. Funny, engaging and happy. The best morning start you could wish for. Thank you Amanda for starting my day off with a smile.

We are regular visitors to the Green Man, but usually for a drink and a meal in the beautiful setting of the Inn. This time, our son and his lovely wife had their wedding at the venue and we couldn’t have been more thrilled at the outcome and experience. Fownhope is a gorgeous location, and the facilities there in the way of car-parking, rooms and the quality of the food are all superb. The preparations in the run- up to the day were well-organised and staff could not have been more accommodating. The way that the team worked tirelessly throughout the day, to ensure we had a first class experience, was deeply impressive. The transitions between the main room as a ceremonial setting, dining facility and then a dance floor in the evening, were seamless. The bedrooms were wonderful, with so much space and attention to detail. The day was truly wonderful, in a way that many other venues would have struggled to deliver. As father of the groom, I want to offer my most sincere gratitude to the whole team in ensuring our day will remain so beautifully, forever in our memory. Lastly, the price for the day was ‘very’ reasonable. Our special day could have been no better in any way. Thank you once again to all at the Green Man.
