Merbach Hill View Holidays - Swallow Lodge

Hay-on-Wye's reputation as a literary destination draws visitors year-round, and the surrounding Herefordshire countryside offers walking, cycling and proximity to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Swallow Lodge sits five miles from the town itself, positioned at the foot of Merbach Hill with its own enclosed garden and decked terrace. Built in 2023, the lodge is a single-storey property sleeping two, with a king bed in the bedroom and ensuite shower, plus an open-plan living and dining space that opens onto the decking through patio doors.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals; the living area has a smart TV and comfortable seating. The decked area wraps around a private hot tub, lit at night, where you can soak while watching the landscape. Bathrobes are provided. A BBQ, bike store and children's play area are on the grounds. The essentials—heating, electricity, linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are included, and your dog is welcome to stay free. The property sits within the grounds of The Castlefields, which serves food and drink daily, though booking is advisable. Hereford and Ross-on-Wye are a short drive away if you want more shops and restaurants. No smoking inside.
