Great Sunday lunch! Rang to book for a group of 11, the staff talked through availability and checked if we needed a dog friendly area. Outside tables are first come first served, which with such a great outdoor space is understandable. We were lucky, there was space in the sun when we arrived and the staff were happy to help us move our booking. The menu is all tempting, and the dishes were well presented, very tasty and a good size. We had great service from their team - quick ordering at the bar, and the right amount of attention outside. Nothing was forgotten and that's not easy with a big group on a Sunday service! They have such a gorgeous spot on the river, lots of parking and plenty of tables inside and out.

The service was impeccable from our server, didn’t catch her name but dark hair, tattoos and piercings. She went an absolute mile to make sure we were happy where we sat, went through the menu when my husband couldn’t read it (quite small print on the breakfast menu) and she made sure we were happy and didn’t need anything else. She absolutely made our stay and we hope the hotel realises that she is such an asset to the hotel, friendly, bubbly, and just a perfect addition to our stay. The rooms were well kept, clean and sufficed. The coffee machine was a lovely addition which we weren’t expecting but did appreciate and the check in was a quick and easy process that meant we could get a drink quickly after our long journey.

What a great little family friendly hotel. Perfectly perched on the river bank so you can get up to marine and boat activities. The staff were very friendly and the local ales were scrum diddly umptious. The food looked pretty standard fare but 5 stars for the view and staff alone. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Lovely stay during our Hadrians Wall Walk! Great outdoor area and dining room. Rooms were solid and the dinner was good — not the best Sunday roast I’ve had but it did the job!. Would stay here again.
