Marl Farm

Photo: Sean Newbury

On a working farm between Glossop and Chapel-en-le-Frith, Marl Farm sits within reach of some of the region's most walked countryside. Hayfield is a mile away—a village that serves as a natural base for the Sett Valley Trail, Kinder Scout, and the moorland around Edale. The caverns near Castleton, Eyam, and several stately homes including Chatsworth are all within a reasonable drive, as are the market towns of Buxton and Bakewell.

The cottage is a single bedroom property with a shower room, sleeping two. The living room has a TV and DVD player; the kitchen is equipped for cooking, with a fridge, electric cooker and microwave; there is also a washer dryer. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. One car can park on the gravel drive, and there is a bike store. Outside is a gravelled sitting area with garden furniture. The property is on the main road, and there's a pub within walking distance.

One well-behaved pet is welcome (the farm is in sheep country, so dogs must be kept on a lead). Note that the stairs are narrow and steep. The property is non-smoking.

An amazing little place to get away from it all the relax. Set in a working farm we were surprised how quiet it was. The place was beautifully decorated and the beds were so good u don't want to get up 😂 the bathroom with a huge freestanding bath just calls for u to dip and have a bubble bath .... and it's big enough for 2. I cried a little leaving

Girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay in this gorgeous little cottage in Hayfield. It was incredibly cosy and welcoming, with everything you could possibly need to feel completely at home. We stayed with our dog, Kimbo, and he was so relaxed the whole time – clearly just as happy as we were! The cottage is on a working farm, which made the experience even more special; we loved seeing the donkeys and cows during our stay. The area is stunning, with loads to see and do in the Peak District. Such a peaceful, memorable break – we’d highly recommend it and would love to return!

Super clean and tidy home. Everything you need for your stay is supplied. It was one of the best showers I've had. The only tricky thing is the staircase being spiral, but after a couple of times, you soon get used to them. The welcome gift was nice on arrival.
